Mercy Day
During the week of December 9-17, 2006, sisters and associates from Argentina marked the transition of the Argentine community.
On 1st February 2007 the University of Otago celebrated the launch of a new Chair in International Health made possible by funding from Mercy Hospital in Dunedin, a work of Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa, the Sisters of Mercy New Zealand.
The whole assembly gathered in praise and thanksgiving in the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on December 12, 2006 to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy.
The Sisters of Mercy Tacloban Philippines elected a new set of congregational leaders last December 30, 2006.
On Sunday December 17th Ireland’s national television station RTE will broadcast A Eucharistic Celebration of 175 years of Mercy, presided over by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin on television in Ireland and via the RTE website to the world (Webcast).
Everything seemed to be happening at once in London on November 11th. Crowds gathered to watch the Lord Mayor’s Show; others came for the Remembrance ceremonies. Just this once, we were oblivious of the life of the nation going on around us.

On November 26, 2006, a Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated in the chapel of St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s, NL to celebrate the 90th birthday of Sister Mary Fabian Hennebury.
On October 26-27, 2006, Sister Deirdre Mullan, Director of Mercy Global Concern at the United Nations, gave two sessions on the Millennium Development Goals, in St. John's, NL, at the invitation of the Committee for Ecology and Justice.
The Mercy Refugee Network Ireland is a network of about 25 Sisters of Mercy and friends who work with people in the asylum process, visit prisons where people are detained and accompany people who have been recognised as Refugees.
