Friday, 23 February, the Friday of the First Week of Lent, has been designated by Pope Francis as a special Day of Prayer and Fasting for Peace, in particular for the populations of the Democratic Republic of Congo and of South Sudan.
MIA joins with Sisters of Mercy, Associates and Colleagues of the Americas in the wake of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, Parkland, Florida, in prayer for the victims and survivors of this horrific tragedy.

'Building a peaceful and better world through sport and the Olympic ideal' was the resolution adopted by the UN in November 2017. Last Friday, at the opening ceremony of the 2018 Winter Games, we saw the ideals expressed in that resolution in action

Today, 11 February, the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, is World Day of the Sick. Today offers us an invitation to pray with those suffering with illness or frailty and an opportunity to give thanks for those who provide care to them.
We are all invited to join with Pope Francis and his worldwide prayer network in praying this month's intention: Say "No" to Corruption
