Here is something that may be of interest to those of us in Mercy schools.
Multiply by Six Million a remarkable DVD featuring Holocaust survivors telling their stories within the context of original black and white photos is now available for distribution to secondary schools.
The DVD which was co-sponsored by Mercy High School, San Francisco may be used across the curriculum and in many settings.
Its 23 minutes length allows a complete showing of the film during one academic period leaving ample time for preparation, and follow through discussion.
Supplemental materials including expanded Survivor biographies are available upon request. In addition, filmmaker Evvy Eisen can provide support to teachers seeking ways to use the DVD in their classroom.
Some suggested use for the Multiply by Six Million DVD include. To support the modern European History curriculum in classes studying World War II. In English classes using personal journaling techniques. In photography and filmmaking/medial classes. For larger group screenings and public programs including parents and the general community. In the school library, available for loan and individual viewing and for religious studies classes in ethics etc.
