In the nineteenth century, Catherine McAuley established a charitable institution to assist impoverished and disadvantaged women and children. She was quickly joined by like-minded women who, with Catherine, became the first Sisters of Mercy.
This publication explores the early Works of Mercy, drawing on the 'Illustrations of the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy' by Sister Clare Agnew, 1840.
