Mercy International Centre Board bids farewell to two founding members

The Board of Management meeting on 5th September 2002 was the final meeting for two members who had been with the Board since its beginning in 1994. Sister Canice Hanrahan, RSM (Ireland) and Ms. Joan O'Connor (Dublin) had been part of the initial planning for MIC and dedicated Board members since that time. Canice, as Chairperson, has directed the Board through the peaks and valleys of the development of the Centre. She has been a constant support to the Directors and team during these years. Joan's expertise as an architect and her contact at the city level have been invaluable during each phase of construction and renovation of the Centre. Canice and Joan have not only served the Centre with their professional gifts but have been shining beacons in their love of Mercy and this founding House of the Sisters of Mercy.

The Board with great gratitude honoured Canice and Joan with a thanksgiving ritual and a farewell dinner.
