Plans and Programmes (MIA)

The newly launched MIA team is currently planning a programme schedule for 2010. These programmes aim to promote the main elements of the MIA Vision, i.e.

Immersion in the wellspring – the God of Mercy
Nurturance of the charism and the continuation of Catherine’s dream
Promotion of a response to global poverty
Development of enhanced communication.

While the schedule is not complete, a variety of programmes are in place. Book online in the 'Programmes' area of the Mercy International website or email heritage@mercyintwernational.ie

Programmes include:

Wellspring Programmes:
Women and the Passion (Guided Holy Week retreat); Engaging with our Sacred Story in the Scriptures; Spirituality: Integrating Mercy and Justice in Today’s World; The Wellspring: Source of Never Failing Supply (Leadership Conference); Celebrating the Circle; Catherine’s Suscipe: Prayer of a Social Mystic;

Charism Programmes:
The Spiritual Legacy of Catherine; Walking and Praying with Catherine; Come Home to Catherine; Affectionately Yours: Meeting Catherine in her Letters; Going Deeper with Catherine; Catherine McAuley: Blessed in Life and Death;

Global Justice Programmes
Soup and Substance – a Lenten Justice Programme; Awakening the Dreamer (Sustainability, spirituality and social Justice); Engaging with the Spirit of Catherine McAuley to look at Mercy Today; Spirituality of Speaking Out;

Communication Programmes
Launch of New Mercy world web platform; training programme on vision and possibilities of new web platform.

Hospitality and Accommodation:
Mercy International Centre, which now incorporates the McAuley Centre on Herbert Street, continues to offer hospitality to guests and visitors. Bookings for Bed and Breakfast, House Tours and Meeting Facilities are welcomed. Groups wishing to plan their own programmes at the centre will also be facilitated.

The Centre will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period: December 24th – January 4th.
