Mass in the Baggot Street Chapel will be celebrated at midday Dublin time (your local time here), after which we will proceed to the International Room to launch the new Mercyworld.org website (your local time here). Both events will be live-streamed and archived on the Mercyworld.org website. All in attendance at Baggot Street will then enjoy high tea in the dining room.
Following a rigorous tender process with web development companies in Australia and Ireland, conducted between August and October 2017, the MIA Board appointed Together Digital, a creative and multi-award winning Irish digital agency with experience in a wide range of mid to large-scale projects, to undertake the project on behalf of the Mercy family.
Introducing Together Digital
Work commenced with two intensive weeks of planning meetings in December 2017 and has continued steadily ever since.
The Mercyworld.org website is the 'digital doorway' to Mercy international Association, welcoming over 1.5 million visitors in 2017.
The current Mercyworld.org website was launched in August 2010. A robust build, it has served the Mercy family very well. Advances in technology in the last eight years; the developments, undertakings and shared concerns of MIA with initiatives such as MIRP, and the expansion of the Mercy family, seen, for example with the range of programmes now on offer — to name some of the growth areas —are influences on the rebuild.
In a fortnight’s time (Issue #786, 4/5 September) we will release a short video highlighting some of the features and functionality of the new site to further prepare you for the changeover. Mercyworld.org and MercyeNews will continue to act as an entry point, a centralised meeting place and a shared resource for all members of the Mercy family, providing information, education, connection, nourishment, inspiration and ongoing opportunities for engagement and interaction. The concepts of personal connection and supportive communication for the sake of mission will still underline MIA's online approach.
We look forward to launching the new website - an aesthetically pleasing, mobile responsive, sophisticated web solution, built for our current needs and anticipating our future growth.
We hope you will able to join us at MIC, either in person, or online on 24 September for this event. For those for whom the live-streaming occurs at an inconvenient hour, a reminder that the videos of Mass and the launch will remain available on the website after the event.
