Mercy Day
More than 100 Sisters of Mercy of the Americas; of Alma, Michigan; Associates; a Mercy Companion, and friends from across the United States gathered on October 23 to learn more about Catherine McAuley and her beatification process.
The guest presenters for this day-long retreat held at Mercy Center in St. Louis, Missouri, were Sister Brenda Dolphin, Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of Ireland and postulator for the Cause of Venerable Catherine McAuley; Sister Sheila Carney, Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and vice postulator (Americas) for the Cause for the Canonization of Catherine; and Sister Mary Prudence Allen, Ph.D., Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan who has published a three-volume work entitled The Concept of Woman.
This historic event was planned and organized by Sister Ginger Andrews (Americas), who is a spiritual director at Mercy Center in St. Louis and Sister Marysia Weber (Alma), who is the vicar of Religious Office of Consecrated Life for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
