MIA Prayer Intention for the Coming Week: Reception of the Encyclical Laudato Si' (Praised Be)

MIA invites us all to join in prayer in solidarity with Pope Francis for the reception in our own heads, hearts and actions of the Encyclical 'Laudato Si' (Praised Be) following its release this Thursday, 18 June. The encyclical takes its name from 'The Canticle of Brother Sun', the hymn of praise by Francis of Assisi. More about that can be read here

You might care to use the text of Francis of Assisi's prayer which can be found on the Franciscan Friars site here

The 'Canticle of the Sun' written and sung by Marty Haugen can be played here (03:29)

'Creation is not a property, which we can rule over at will; or, even less, is the property of only a few: Creation is a gift, it is a wonderful gift that God has given us, so that we care for it and we use it for the benefit of all, always with great respect and gratitude.'
