MIA Prayer Intention for the Coming Week - for the Suffering and Distressed

According to Caritas Internationalis we are in a 'summer of disasters' with the needs of millions of people in Syria, Gaza, Iraq, those caught in the Ebola epidemic and in the almost forgotten civil wars in the Central African Republic and South Sudan crying out for attention.

'In conflict countries', says Paul Borsboom, emergency aid coordinator at Cordaid (the Dutch member of Caritas Internationalis), 'people will only be helped by acute humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of their communities'.

As we continue to be confronted by scenes of suffering, distress and devastation, may this video clip of 'Love in Action' — reminding us that we are 'one human family'— lift us up, encourage us and inspire us in our efforts to be mercy and justice.

May we too 'have a heart that sees'.
