Mercy Day
Cathy Solano rsm (ISMAPNG) spoke to the Religious at the United Nations (RUN) group at the UN recently about the situation in Nuba, Sudan. As a result of Sr Cathy's sharing of her experience, the attached letter of solidarity (below) was prepared by some of the RUN members.
MIA signed on to this letter which is addressed to: UN Ambassador for Sudan; HE Ban Ki-moon UN Secretary General; Ms. Rashida Manjoo Special Rapporteur on Violence against women, its causes and consequences and Mr. Mutuma Ruteere Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.
We ask for your prayers for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Sudan.

Sudan Targets Only Hospital in Nuba Mountains
Nuba Reports, an independent news site based in the Nuba Mountains along the border of Sudan and South Sudan, has posted a video clip on their site and on YouTube showing people running for cover as Russian-made Sukhoi and Antanov fighter jets roared overhead. The video includes interviews with Dr. Tom Catena, the hospital’s medical director, Ingrid Revaug the Emergency Project Coordinator for the hospital and Bishop Macram Max Gassis, Bishop of El-Obeid Diocese, who built the hospital.
