New Mercy Intern at the UN

Sr Bernadette Ndegwa arrived at the UN on Monday February 9th. She is seen standing outside UN headquarters under the National Flag of Kenya. Bernadette runs a Vocational Training Centre for women in a semi arid part of Kenya where there is a high rate of poverty and famine. She is an excellent organizer and these women are taught basic life skills as well as needlework, hairdressing, knitting, cookery and beauty care.

Editor: A report on her experiences by the first Mercy Intern, Cathy Solano rsm, has been posted on the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia website. Access that report here.
