On the 185th anniversary of the opening of Baggot Street as a residence for girls and women who were homeless, Mercy Day 2012 provides an opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you for the dedication and commitment of the Mercy community to the most vulnerable in our world. In particular, we thank you for your focus on activities to end the crime of human trafficking and your support for those who have been trafficked.
We especially appreciate the gift of Mercy women in ACRATH. Catherine's compassion and down-to-earth care are given in abundance!
It is also inspiring to read of the MIA Global Action campaign to "keep trafficking out of hotels in countries where Sisters of Mercy have a presence."
Catherine would support the 18th October initiative of Stop the Traffik. On this day we are asked to join a global day of action to give taxi drivers a cup of tea and inspire them to help prevent human trafficking.
On Monday may you all enjoy a "good cup of tea together!"
Greetings and prayers on the Feast of Our Lady of Mercy for you and all those you work with and for.
