The conference theme will be Mercy: Enlivening the Spirit and Reshaping the Dream. The Sisters of Mercy of Albany, New York have graciously offered to host this anniversary conference. The Albany Marriott will be our site and October 2 to 4, 2003 the dates.

Our goal is to provide an education forum and the opportunity to relate experiences, challenges and successes and to strengthen the commitment that Sisters of Mercy and co-ministers share in serviing older adults. Specific objectives are:

  • To understand and celebrate the richness of ageing experiences as they pertain to spirituality, best practice models and practical approaches.
  • To learn innovative approaches to meet the individual needs of older adults.
  • To affirm and energize the caregiver.

This conference is meant for nurses, certified nurse assistants, social workers, administrators of senior centres, housing, nursing homes or community retirement centres, staff members and caregivers at these places. CEUs and certificates of attendance will be available.

Our keynote speakers include Sr. Maureen McCann, RSM, Rabbi Cary Kosberg, Dr. Richard Johnson and Sr. Helen Amos, RSM.
