Where Sisters of Mercy Minister: Italy (31)

The Sisters of Mercy have had a presence in Italy for most of the last three decades. In almost all of these years, there have been two or more Sisters of Mercy studying or teaching in Rome at the Pontifical Gregorian University, Pontifical Institute of Liturgy of Sant’Anselmo, and the former Pontifical Institute Regina Mundi (closed in 2005).

At the current time, Brenda Dolphin rsm (Congregation of Sisters of Mercy, Ireland) is the only Sister of Mercy affiliated with Mercy International Association who lives and ministers in Italy. She serves as the postulator for the Cause of Catherine McAuley’s canonization and is also a faculty member at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
