Mercy Day
AT CONFERENCE: October 8-10,2009

The Mercy Network on Aging 2009 Conference held at the Hilton Philadelphia Airport in Philadelphia, Pennyslvania, was attended by over 100 Sisters of Mercy, three members of other religious in the Philadelphia area and Mercy Colleagues from Long Term Care Facilities and Agencies across the United States.
On Thursday evening October 09, 2009,Katie Hayes, current chairperson of the Mercy Network introduced members of the Board and warmly welcomed the Mercy Network Visitors. Katie introduced Carol Conly, rsm, member of the leadership team of the Mid-Atlantic Community that hosted a reception at the Hotel to welcome Conference participants.
Mary Waskowiak,rsm, President of The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, was the Keynote Speaker focusing on Celebrating Unbroken Threads.
Friday morning General Sessions included pertinent topics of health care choices based upon spirituality, evolution of culture change and operational excellence .
Friday morning, afternoon and Saturday rnorning Breakout Sessions featured topic of current day issues so the group had a chance to hear topics on:
Spirituality of Suffering, Elder Abuse, Remotivation and Life Review and the Aging, Sage-ing Spirit
The participants were sent back to their regional communities with the message to Celebrate Unbroken Threads of Mercy to All they meet in the Aging Network.
