Hold a Good Cup of Tea Event During the Season of Mercy: September - December

Editor: The International Good Cup of Tea Event was first held when people across the Mercy world were invited to support Mercy International Association on Remembrance Day, Friday 11/11/11, the 170th anniversary of Catherine's death.

The aim of the event was to celebrate the life and legacy of Catherine McAuley and to raise funds for the ongoing work of Mercy International Association. Equally important as the fundraising, we found, was the opportunity the gatherings provided to share the Mercy story and strengthen ties in local Mercy communities and groups, all the while enjoying a good cup of tea accompanied by sweet and savoury snacks. You might remember seeing these wonderful images and reports from gatherings all over the Mercy world.

The International Good Cup of Tea Event was such a popular event that we are inviting the Mercy world to hold it again this year and annually from now on. Funds raised in 2018 will contribute to The Sacred Garden Project, the creation of a place of peace and tranquillity for all pilgrims in the Baggot Street grounds.
