MIA Prayer Intention: Victims of Flooding

We pray with the victims of recent flooding.

We remember especially the people of Kenya where, since March, heavy rains are reported to have killed at least 132 people and displaced 222,456 others, and where the devastating Nakuru-Solai Dam collapse on 9 May caused further deaths and left locals unaccounted for. The risk of landslides in areas where the soil has been saturated by rain and floodwater remains high.

On the other side of the globe, record flash flooding has inundated Hobart, capital city of Tasmania, Australia, with private homes, businesses and public assets badly affected as a result.
