Mercy Day
Next March Melbourne Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy Australia celebrates 150 years since the arrival in Melbourne of the first Sister of Mercy, Ursula Frayne. Details of the celebrations can be accessed here. To prepare for the celebrations, a number of high quality, visually appealing, informative materials have been created. These include the 2007 Mercy Ministries Calendar ($10 incl p&h) and a Reflection Resource ($6.50 incl p&h) – a series of five reflective sessions suitable for small group discussion.
Further details about how to order these resources are on the What’s New’ page on the Melbourne Congregation section of the Institute website and can be accessed under this link or contact Sophie Fenaughty at the Congregation Office on +61 3 9499 1577
Contemporary images alongside quotes from Catherine McAuley, grace this fundraising calendar and reflect Catherine's enduring care and compassion for those who are in need; they provide us with inspiration for bringing mercy to our world.
Each two-year calendar costs $20.00 (NZ) including postage and handling for orders outside of New Zealand. Proceeds from the sale of this calendar will go towards helping Villa Maria College (Christchurch, NZ) students attend Sydney World Youth Day 2008.
For more information and an order form please email wyd@villa.school.nz
The Romero Centre, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy Brisbane Congregation, is a community-based organisation offering support to refugees on temporary protection visas (TPVs), to former TPV holders and their families, to some asylum seekers and stateless people as well as other disadvantaged refugees. We provide a welcome and practical assistance for refugees coming from detention or suffering from its long-term effects. The Centre is entirely dependent on the funds we can raise in the community, and we hope the sale of our 2007 Calendar will help us in this regard.
The Romero Centre calendar opens to A4 size, has twelve full colour photographs and space on each day for noting appointments etc. Major Christian and Islamic festivals are indicated, as are Queensland school holidays and dates of social and cultural significance. The cost is $10.00 (plus postage).
The Romero Centre is located at 118 Park Road, Woolloongabba Q 4102. If you wish to place an order, a cheque or money order made payable to Romero Centre can be posted to PO Box 6115 Buranda Q 4102. For further queries please contact Katrina on +61 7 3393 2500 or email romerocentre@bigpond.com
