Golden Jubilee of Mercy Presence in the Philippines

The theme for the Religious Sisters of Mercy’s (RSM) celebration of their presence in the island is very appropriate indeed. The original fervor and vitality of the pioneers – the Irish Sisters who cast the mercy flame in the island and planted the seeds 50 years ago is still very palpable. Despite the many storms that threatened the flame to be put out, still it is kindling for the mercy charism is very relevant, as shown by the many Fatima College alumni who were animated by the mercy flame who became priests and sisters including the many lay leaders who have been serving their respective local churches. This is the contribution of the RSM Sisters to the evangelizing mission of the universal church.
