¡Feliz Día de la Misericordia! Happy Mercy Day!

Wishing all in the Mercy world a joyous Mercy Day. In a world fraught with violence and struggles of all sorts, let us be grateful for the gift of our Mercy community which strengthens us for mission. Catherine pray for us to be strengthened in our conviction to be instruments of love and mercy in our world.

In mercy and with love,

Mindful it is 190 years since the first House of Mercy opened in 1827, the directors of Mercy International Association extend their greetings to sisters, friends, associates and partners in ministry as we join together in our local communities to celebrate Mercy Day.

As we explore Mercy Global Presence together in the coming months let us be mindful of those to whom we are present“...because all creatures are connected each must be cherished with love and respect, for all of us as living creatures are dependent on one another.” Pope Francis, Laudato Si.

May our celebrations enliven us with respect and love for our earth community.

Sister Colette and the Sisters of the Institute of Our Lady of Mercy, Great Britain send greetings and blessings to our Sisters, Associates and Partners in Ministry for the feast of Our Lady of Mercy. This year the feast falls on the 190th Anniversary of the opening of the House on Baggot Street so we can truly say, ‘His Mercy is from Age to Age'.

How Catherine will be smiling on us as we strive to continue her ministry of Mercy to all in need in our troubled world today.

May the Lord fill each one of us with deep peace, joy and good health and passion in His service.

Mercy Day greetings from the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea (ISMAPNG) to Sisters, Mercy colleagues, friends and Associates across the world. “Whatever and wherever our ministry is … we are part of the one Mercy mission, part of the ongoing mission of the compassionate Jesus.” (ISMAPNG Constitutions 4.03). Together we continue God’s creative work, knowing we are deeply connected with each other and with all who call our world ‘home.’ We remember each other on this special day when Catherine opened the House of Mercy on Baggot Street in Dublin 190 years ago. Her vision was reflected in works of mercy great and small and it lives on in us. May our hospitality of heart, mind and spirit be evident to all those we meet as we travel on our particular path of Mercy.

We remember each of you this Mercy Day and pray in gratitude and confidence that Our Lady of Mercy and Catherine will continue to gift us with hope as we celebrate the colour, shape and mystery of mercy.

Blessings

-Margaret, Schol, Cecilia, Marie Louise, Patricia
