Our Common Home – Our Common Future: The Good News of the SDGs

Announcements: February 14, 2017

The ‘Future we Need’ (FWN) group is an inter-congregational group which came into existence in 2011 in the lead-up to the UN (Rio+20) Sustainable Development Conference in Rio. We advocated and made submissions during the consultation phase and currently we are focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the need for their implementation here in Ireland and globally. Some of our members are also involved with the Irish NGO ‘Coalition 2030’ which is concerned with the implementation of the SDGs as well.

Our ‘Future We Need’ group is planning a half-day workshop on March 9th under the title Our Common Home - Our Common Future

Using the SDGs and Laudato Si’ we are hoping to highlight and explore some of the urgent issues facing humanity.

Charlie Bird (far right), a former RTE Chief Correspondent, will share his concerns about the big issues for our world today, including Climate Change and Peace
