Two of our sisters have been attending the ANZRATH meetings, they have had presentations from ECPAT and are currently exploring information around underage prostitution in South Auckland and trying to get some media coverage.
I was the keynote speaker at the Australasian Mercy Secondary Schools Conference in Melbourne in October and so used my presentation (and one of the small group workshop sessions I led) to highlight the issue of human trafficking. When the students developed action plans as part of the conference human trafficking was one of the issues and I am hopefully that when they return to school next year we start to see some of their ideas develop into some realities in the new year. ACRATH also had someone present a small group workshop and we watched a video message from Aine at the conference as well which was great to help reinforce the global face of mercy. So they got the information from several angles!
