Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, used her inheritance in service of the needs of her time. Today, Sisters of Mercy, through Mercy International Association, use their resources to respond to issues of global poverty demonstrated in the massive displacement of persons worldwide...This vision keeps alive the founding spirit of Catherine among peoples of the world most in need of God's compassion and mercy.

Feature

Final Vow Programme – Come home to Catherine (MIA)

Editor: They came from Kenya, the Philippines, Peru and the US, eight Sisters of Mercy, all eager to spend time at Catherine's House, participants in a special program for those new to, or about to take, their final vows, each gifted with the opportunity to spend a week reflecting on Catherine's life and ministry - and their own.

Come home to Catherine offers participants an opportunity to pray with Catherine in her places and spaces, and to walk in her footsteps through the city of Dublin . The programme is offered each year to enable Sisters of Mercy to reflect on and be with Catherine.

Anne Reid and Áine Barrins rsm who facilitated the Final Vow programme with the assistance of Evelyn Horan, rsm who translated the programme for non-English speaking Sisters, will offer Come Home to Catherine from 28 July to 3 August, 2013. Details can be accessed here (PDF).

A report on the Final Vow programme is linked to this item. The report includes 4 recordings of the Suscipe, sung by the participants from each of the four countries.
