Sustaining the Human Spirit with Engaged Spirituality (Americas)
" Ivanka, one of last summer’s retreat participants at Rockhaven Ecozoic Center in House Springs, Missouri, came through the kitchen door bursting with excitement. During an early morning walk, she had made an amazing discovery. She carried a handful of fresh sweet smelling flowers and herbs— weeds, to the casual observer.
“I don’t know their local names but in Bulgaria, we drink them,” she explained as she put the plants in the teapot and poured boiling water over them.
“Well then,” I replied, “let’s enjoy some tea!”
Thus, began our conversation about what grows in our bioregion.
Here in the Ozarks, we live off the land but we too ask how we can live more sustainably. Dialogues such as these epitomize Rockhaven Ecozoic Center’s ongoing task: accompanying the folks who come to Rockhaven on their myriad personal journeys while we encourage their reconnecting with the natural world..."

Young Mercy Leaders Pilgrimage update (MIA)
Fr Liam Lawton will be the celebrant at the Closing Eucharist for the Young Mercy Leaders Pilgrimage in July. Fr Liam is a priest in the Diocese of Kildare & Leighlin, Ireland. Forced Marriage & Labour Trafficking in Australia (Australia)
In Randwick, New South Wales on 19 February, Catholic Religious and colleagues heard case studies of young Australian women forced into marriage in their parents’ home countries. They heard that new Australian legislation will criminalise forced marriage and empower the young women threatened with forced marriage. Interim President Appointed to Mercy High Baltimore (Americas)
The Search Committee for Mercy High School's next President in its first search did not find a suitable candidate. So they decided to go with an Interim President for academic year 2013-2014. This announcement was made to the faculty Wednesday afternoon, Feb 20th. A letter was mailed to current parents that evening. Brief and lovely asssembly with students first thing Thursday morning. Baltimore Mercys were informed by email Thursday night. Alumnae were informed by email Friday late afternoon. Some more letters were mailed Friday evening to other significant connections.

The Book of Flowers - M. Clare Augustine Moore
'The Book of Flowers' is one of Clare Augustine's most celebrated works. It bears an inscription on its first page that reads 'Convent of Our Lady, St Vincent's Goldenbridge', which dates the manuscript to after 1856, when Clare Augustine began to teach at the school. It consists of the inscription, title page and twenty illuminated prayers.
