Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, used her inheritance in service of the needs of her time. Today, Sisters of Mercy, through Mercy International Association, use their resources to respond to issues of global poverty demonstrated in the massive displacement of persons worldwide...This vision keeps alive the founding spirit of Catherine among peoples of the world most in need of God's compassion and mercy.

Feature

Wellsprings 2012:

This week we make available the first of the series of videos from the "Watering the Roots at the Wellspring of Mercy" 2012 renewal programme, with presentations from Elizabeth Davis rsm, Congregational Leader of the Sisters of Mercy of Newfoundland, given during the first week (July 1-6).

'Today, women religious who echo Catherine's charism in a new age marked by intense social change and growing fragility of earth are challenged,' says Elizabeth,' to be that mercy fire kindling.'

Two clips are presented for viewing and reflection in which Elizabeth raises and addresses those challenges. These clips, both from Day 5, should be viewed sequentially (Session 1, Session 2).

Messages to: Elizabeth Davis rsm
