Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, used her inheritance in service of the needs of her time. Today, Sisters of Mercy, through Mercy International Association, use their resources to respond to issues of global poverty demonstrated in the massive displacement of persons worldwide...This vision keeps alive the founding spirit of Catherine among peoples of the world most in need of God's compassion and mercy.

Catherine's Canonisation Cause: Making Catherine Known and Loved

Editor: 200 commercial organisations and Church groups will be representing themselves and offering religious goods, Irish craft products and services to the pilgrims in the Main Hall Exhibition Area at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) during the 50th International Eucharistic Congress (June 10 -16). Among the stands to be visited will be the Venerable Catherine McAuley stand (stand 141) which will be staffed by the members of the Canonisation Committee of The Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy. Sisters of Mercy volunteers will also assist the MIC team who will conduct tours of Mercy International Centre for interested pilgrims.

In the following article we learn about preparations underway for the event:

On April 28th, a number of Sisters made their way from different parts of Ireland to Catherine’s House in Baggot Street. It was training day for all, who had committed their time ‘to make Catherine known and loved’, for the duration of the Eucharistic Congress...
