Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, used her inheritance in service of the needs of her time. Today, Sisters of Mercy, through Mercy International Association, use their resources to respond to issues of global poverty demonstrated in the massive displacement of persons worldwide...This vision keeps alive the founding spirit of Catherine among peoples of the world most in need of God's compassion and mercy.

Feature

Let’s all make the 11/11/11 a memorable day (MIA)

There are wonderful stories reaching us from around the world on events being planned for the Good Cup of Tea event.

A Junior school in Malabar are all set for a cake sale; an Association group in Dallas is expecting Catherine McAuley to look in on their Tea event and to share in the musical entertainment, raffles and door prizes; Sisters, Associates and friends in Watchung, New Jersey are having a dinner party, followed by Circle of Mercy video, sing-a-long and line dancing. A Mercy Boys’ Home in Georgetown, Guyana is hosting three events to which they are inviting friends and benefactors; the year 11 students of OLMC Parramatta are assisting with the catering of a high tea for both morning and afternoon tea ,while a Leadership team in Omaha have devised a very creative Virtual Community Sharing opportunity in which all Sisters, Associates and Companions are invited to participate.

At this stage registrations have been received from communities, associates, schools, care homes and other places of ministry throughout Australia, New Zealand, United States, South America, Great Britain and Ireland.

At Mercy International Centre there will be a continuous ‘Good Cup of Tea’ and scones from 10.00am to 2.30pm. Mass will be celebrated at 3.00pm in the Chapel at Baggot Street and will be followed by afternoon tea.

There is still plenty of time to plan your event so let’s all make the 11/11/11 a memorable day.
