Mercy Day 2011 at Baggot Street
On Friday, September 23rd, over 80 Mercy Sisters, Associates, colleagues and friends gathered in the Baggot street Chapel for Mass celebrated by Fr Michael Milners from the Avila Carmelite Centre. The gathering was truly international with representatives of the global Mercy family from America, Australia, Ireland, England and Kenya amongst the congregation. That internationality was reinforced by the accents of those who had special roles in the Eucharistic celebration such as readers and Eucharistic ministers.

Opening Our Treasures: An interview with Aine Barrins rsm
The seeds for this booklet were planted in 2010 when Aine Barrins rsm was involved in the "Coming Home" programme at Mercy International Centre. Some Sisters in the programme expressed interest in seeing images of Our Lady in Catherine McAuley's time. Having opened the manuscript by Clare Augustine Moore when following up on their request, Aine became enthralled with what she saw and knew she wanted to share those visual treasures with others, but how best to do this and what to share?
Messages to Aine Barrins rsm
Editor: Opening our treasures is this week's featured Mercy resource. This little booklet is available for purchase from Mercy International Centre for 7euros plus postage. Clare Augustine's Book of Flowers can be viewed here.

A World Map of the Undersea Internet Cables
A Wikipedia entry states that only 1% of Internet data and voice traffic is transmitted through satellite links while the remaining 99% is still carried by undersea cables spread across the world’s oceans. This explains why Internet services get disrupted when these undersea cables are damaged due to passing ships or in the event of an undersea earthquake.
