Celebrating Mercy Day at Mercy International (MIA)
Mercy Day will be celebrated at Mercy International on Friday 23rd September with Mass at midday followed by a meal. Any Sisters of Mercy or Associates who would like to celebrate with us are welcome. Those visiting Ireland for any reason are particularly welcome.

Trafficking is an issue which engages the Sisters of Mercy in Argentina at both a practical and a political level where they are involved in advocacy and lobbying to end trafficking.

Celebrating Mercy with Mary Sullivan rsm (GB Institute)
September 3rd saw the start of a series of Reflection Days on Catherine McAuley for Sisters of Mercy of Great Britain. “Don’t Miss It”, a day to celebrate Mercy with Mary Sullivan RSM (America), was organized by the Canonization Group, in St. Chad’s Cathedral, Birmingham.

On Friday, September 2nd, Adele Howard rsm, Founder and Director of Fraynework Multimedia, concluded her 16 years of gifted leadership of this Mercy ministry where she has led the development of the mercyworld.org website, the creation of the weekly Mercy E-News and the production of the interactive CD-ROM, Mercy and Justice Shall Meet , among other significant Mercy and Church online and interactive developments including Become One Body One Spirit in Christ.
Fraynework has been incorporated with a new Board and a new CEO.
Adele will continue in her role as the communications and culture consultant to Mercy International Association. She has been appointed to full time communications consultancy and advice - Mercy Communications.

Mercy Receives Lifetime Contribution Award (Australia)
Helen Monkivitch rsm AO has been recognised by Catholic Health Australia for her contribution to Catholic health and aged-care services as the second recipient of the Sr Maria Cunningham Lifetime Contribution Award.
Catholic Health Australia is the largest non-government provider grouping of health, community and aged care services in Australia, nationally representing Catholic health care sponsors, systems, facilities, and related organisations and services.
The award was presented at a formal dinner on Thursday 1 September, during CHA's National Conference at the Great Hall in Parliament House, Canberra. The awards were announced by CHA CEO Martin Laverty and presented by CHA Stewardship Board Chairman Tony Wheeler.

Catherine - mercy empowering at margins (Aotearoa New Zealand)
The 2011 Catherine McAuley Lecture was presented by Mary Reynolds rsm, Executive Director of Mercy International Association.
Entitled 'God's Mercy from Age to Age' the lecture offered a reflection on the birthing, expansion and challenge of the Mercy charism.

Final Profession Day in Nairobi, Kenya (The Congregation)
On 26th August 2011, Mary Wangui Kanyi rsm, Teresiah Njoki Njoroge rsm and Esther Lopeyok Erus rsm were finally professed in St. Austin’s Catholic Church, Msongari, Nairobi.
The ceremony was presided over by His Lordship, Bishop Anthony Muheria of Kitui Diocese.
Bishop Muheria’s words were both challenging and inspirational. He said Mercy is predominantly a quality of God and to grow in mercy we are to grow in godliness; as a group we are like an orchestra with a variety of instruments, each playing its part...
