Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, used her inheritance in service of the needs of her time. Today, Sisters of Mercy, through Mercy International Association, use their resources to respond to issues of global poverty demonstrated in the massive displacement of persons worldwide...This vision keeps alive the founding spirit of Catherine among peoples of the world most in need of God's compassion and mercy.

Mercy Volunteers Begin Year of Service (Americas)

A total of 28 new Mercy Volunteers Corps (MVC) volunteers have been selected and trained to serve the poor and marginalized for the upcoming year. In partnership with the Sisters of Mercy, these lay women and men will be working in a variety of Sisters of Mercy ministries located throughout the United States and Guyana. They join three MVC volunteers who are beginning their second year of volunteer service in Guyana.

A year or two with Mercy Volunteer Corps challenges you to be extraordinary, to expand your beliefs and look at the world through a new set of eyes.
