This week we tour the Foundress section of the website. It comprises four parts: a chronology which explores the highlights of Catherine's life, a short illustrated story of her life, an overview of the canonization process and an interactive map of Catherine’s Dublin. The front page of this section is beautifully set off with a portrait of Catherine, overlaid with a continuously changing selection of her sayings.

According to records kept by the Department, over 480 Sisters and Associates have taken part in this UN annual conference.
'This great number reflects our diversity and interconnectedness in so many ways,' writes Deirdre,'and I am aware that many of the links established when members came to the conferences remain today.'

Address to MIA Archivists Gathering November 2009 (Catherine's Canonisation Cause)
Editor: Newly added to the website is this piece from Sheila Carney, first presented at the Archivists Conference in 2009:
Sheila writes: 'Why do I, personally, pray that Catherine McAuley will be canonized? I pray that Catherine will be canonized because I want my Church, when it pictures itself as holy, to see this woman, bent, with merciful intent, to human need and suffering. I want my Church, when it reflects on its holiness to see this woman – a gentle, humble, honest, respectful, and challenging leader. I want my Church, when it looks at its holiness, to see this faith filled woman who clung to her belief in it when it supported her and when it didn't, who drew sustenance from it, who trusted its representatives, who chose to find the meaning of her life in it and who passionately passed on this belief, this fidelity. I pray for this Cause because I want my Church, in seeking an image for its holiness, to see the face of Catherine McAuley. I pray for her canonization, not because Catherine needs the authorization of the Church to prove her sanctity but because the Church needs her witness...'

Composing Music for the Suspice (Americas)
'All the really good prayers last a lifetime,' writes Cynthia Serjak rsm. 'This is because they are always applicable to our lives, no matter whether we are young or old, comfortable or in trouble, at peace, in distress, in sadness, in joy. The Suscipe of Catherine is in this category. It offers to anyone who prays it a challenge to trust God completely, and to know that what happens every day is in God’s plan...' Cynthia's reflection is accompanied by two musical settings of the Suscipe.
